The ancient residence of the Prince of antiquarians, a place of culture, exhibitions, and events. Villa Bardini was built in 1641 under the name Villa Manadora but was soon renamed Villa Belvedere for its splendid panoramic position. An edifice reminiscent of the “Casini di Delizia” widespread in Florence between the late sixteenth and the first half of the seventeenth century, built for the delight of the lords and surrounded by agricultural cultivations not only for productive purposes but also for ornamental ones.

In 1913, it was purchased by the Florentine antiquarian Stefano Bardini. The Bardini family lived there until 1965 when Ugo, Stefano’s son, died without heirs. His legacy was supposed to go to the Swiss Confederation, which declined, and in 1987 it passed to the Italian State. Currently, Villa Bardini hosts the exhibition ‘Mimmo Jodice. Senza tempo’ (Timeless).
